Led by Johns Hopkins Hospital trained and board certified Neurosurgeon Dr. Brian Miller, our team will focus on you as a whole person and work with our network of allied health specialists such as physical and massage therapists as well as pain specialists to find the best treatment path for you. If you are a surgical candidate for minimally invasive spine surgery Dr. Miller and his staff will provide a comprehensive evaluation and surgical plan to help you get your life back. We specialize in micro-incision procedures using the latest in technology combined with years of surgical experience.
Additionally, Dr. Miller is one of the only surgeons in the entire state of Alaska who uses true minimally invasive procedures and techniques.

History
Founded by Dr. Brian Miller, Apex Neurosurgery, LLC has been helping Alaskans since 2013.
Dr. Brian Miller works primarily out of Anchorage and lives there with his family and loves travel and staying physically active. He enjoys fishing, hunting, rock climbing, mountaineering, back-country skiing and sea kayaking as well as anything else that lets him enjoy this beautiful state year round. He is a former EMT/Paramedic, and has a life-long passion for fitness and nutrition with previous strength and conditioning and strongman coaching experience. Dr. Miller loves working with his hands both in and out of the OR and enjoys welding, wood-working and is always looking for the next project to dazzle his wife with.
He is originally from Southern California and during his medical training lived in the mountains of California and that lifestyle was what drew him to the big mountains of Alaska. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California (USC) , his Masters Degree (MS) in Medical Education and Medical Degree (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine-DO) at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California.
Residency training in Neurological Surgery was completed at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in San Bernardino County, California at one of the busiest trauma centers and focused on complex spine trauma and degenerative nerve injuries.
Dr. Miller then went on to complete additional training and completed a competitive Orthopedic Spine fellowship in Complex Spine Surgery at the world renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. There he received advanced training in deformity correction (scoliosis), minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS) and revision surgery of the spine (correction of previous failed surgeries). Dr. Miller is the only neurosurgeon in the state with this unique set of expertise and training.
Spine and brain surgery are a highly difficult, constantly evolving, and technology driven specialty and Dr. Miller continuously reads the scientific literature and attends courses and classes throughout the year to stay current with the latest technology and treatment advances.
These diverse and advanced training experiences allow Dr. Miller to provide you and your family with the best possible surgical care- balanced with the caring and compassion that you deserve.
